Middlewich High School

Excellence in Learning – Achievement for All

The Cheshire Show

Once again we were lucky enough to be invited as a School to be part of the Education Tent Schools Out at the Cheshire Show.

Once again we were lucky enough to be invited, as a School, to be part of the Education Tent Schools Out at the Cheshire Show.  Two teams of students encouraged the Public to get involved in science, maths and ICT activities ranging from science chemical experiments on red cabbage, butterfly symmetry task for maths and controlling a robot in ICT.  We had a large number of visitors to our stall who wanted to take part, and whose ages ranged from two years to 92!  Martin Lewis filming his money roadshow programme next door to our Marquee did little to draw away any visitors from  our marquee!  For a record tenth time we were both proud and delighted to win the shield for best school stand in the marquee, and get to keep the shield for another year.  Both the Public and Cheshire Show Officials were all keen to tell us how impressed they were by the politeness, enthusiasm and general manner of our students and how they were a credit to our school.  They were also impressed by their knowledge and the way that they engaged with the Public.  Middlewich High has now been part of the Schools Out marquee longer than any other school in the history of the show, and we were instrumental in changing the character of the marquee into an interactive activity based venue.  We are very proud to be part of such a key Cheshire event in the annual calendar.
