Many thanks to all the staff and students who got involved for Comic Relief. The students dressed in non-uniform whilst the staff chose to wear our school uniform. I must say though that the staff on the whole did not represent our high expectation f

It is definitely beginning to feel like Christmas, here at Middlewich High School. Last week, a number of our music students visited The Manor Care Home to sing Christmas Carols to the residents, and we enjoyed the Community Carol Service with some excellent contributions from young people all over Middlewich.

Yesterday saw our annual Senior Citizens’ party, which is always a joy to host. It is lovely to see members of our community, coming together to enjoy some lovely food, and entertainment provided by our very talented students. It was particularly nice to see a number of our past staff attending this year.

Our ski trip left for Austria on Saturday, and we are looking forward to hearing all about their adventures when they return. Today, a number of students from all year groups are visiting The Trafford Centre on the Reward Trip –perfect timing for some last minute Christmas shopping!

We will finish the year tomorrow, with a Christmas Jumper Day in aid of St Luke’s Hospice. Once again, I have been astounded by the contribution that our students, staff and parents have made to charity this year, particularly in recent weeks with the selection box appeal and Foodbank donations.

Finally, I would like to pass on my thanks to all of you for your support. It has been a privilege and honour to serve the school and its community, and as I leave for pastures new I will carry many fond memories from this time. As a small comprehensive school we have maintained our holistic approach to celebrating the success of our highly talented young people both academically and as members of a thriving learning organisation. Due to the support from home and members of the local community these young people are given great opportunity to follow their dreams and ambitions. May I take this occasion to thank all of you in supporting this ethos; I look forward to hearing of their future success with great personal interest.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.
