As we come to the end of a busy half term, the finish line is in sight for Year 11. Their attitude and approach to their exams has been excellent so far, and they now have a week to focus on revision and get some much needed rest before the final straight.
It has been a pleasure to host a number of students from China this week, it has been fascinating to learn more about the differences between our cultures and specifically our schools; a great experience for our students.
Last week, we celebrated the Royal Wedding with a lunchtime buffet in the staffroom. It was a lovely to see everyone come together and enjoy all the wonderful food; we are often so busy, and it was great to take a few minutes to catch up.
Well done to our Duke of Edinburgh team on a successful canoeing weekend, it gave them a chance to bond as a group as well as learning some new skills.
Earlier this week, we marked the anniversary of the Manchester Arena Bombing, with a fundraising event for the Remembering Nell Foundation. We sold bee merchandise, had a cake stall and held a raffle, ending the day with a whole school assembly. Again, my heartfelt thanks go to those who have donated prizes, merchandise and their time to help us to raise a fantastic £1590.59 – we would not have been able to do this without the support of our wonderful community.
Have a great weekend, and enjoy half term.
