Middlewich High School

Excellence in Learning – Achievement for All

Head's Blog 1st March 2019

The lovely, unseasonal weather, has certainly lifted spirits at Middlewich this week. Year 11 in particular felt cheerful, as they came to the end of their Trial Exams. The exams have been a great opportunity to test their knowledge and learn which areas they need to work on, as well as providing them with the full ‘GCSE Experience’. They will have a results day next week, much as they will for the real thing; whether they feel pride or disappointment will guide them in their studies over the next couple of months.

We have had some great Aspire sessions with Year 5 over the last few weeks; it’s a pleasure to see them learning and enjoying their high school experience. Year 7 places for September have been announced today and we have had the highest number of first choice applications on record; we look forward to welcoming our new cohort.

Our girls’ football team is also celebrating this week, after scoring 7 goals in their most recent match!

With World Book Day upon us next week, we are very excited about the door decorations and costumes; as you know, we always approach the event with maximum enthusiasm and it is one of our favourite days of the year. Look out for some photos next week.

Finally, after 12 years dedicated service to Middlewich High School and the Music department the school would like to wish Miss Donovan future success in pursuit of her new career pathway.  Miss Donovan’s work is reflected in the success of many young people progressing from Middlewich High School to continue their love of music.

Have a great weekend!
