On Thursday we were proud to host the ‘In Tune’ music event for our local community. It was inspiring to see our students working with the 148 primary children throughout the day resulting in a stunning concert in the evening. The musical beginners made so much progress during the event I am confident it will spur many of them on to learning an instrument full-time.

Families from Year 11 joined us on Thursday evening for our ‘Supporting Year 11’ session. Parents, carers and students were here discussing revision techniques and how best to prepare for the GCSE challenge. I would like to thank Mrs Kirkwood and Mr Finney, representatives from our partner Sixth Form colleges, who spoke about aspirations for the future beyond MHS and the importance of securing English and Maths GCSEs this summer.

You may have seen our World Challenge students bag packing at the weekend. Mr Wiseman reports that it was a great success and the local community enjoyed our assistance. Raising money continues for their trip to support developing communities across the world.

I am pleased to welcome into our school Siobhan O’Hanagan every Wednesday in her role as the Emotionally Healthy Schools support worker.  Siobhan has commented on the superb first impression she has of the students.
