Hello and welcome to another positive Friday at Middlewich High School following another superb week.

We are pleased to report a 90% turnout at our Year 7 progress evening with parents and carers. Our feedback from the evening was excellent and it is clear that Year 7 students seem to have settled very well. Thank you to my staff who worked a very long day. It is fair to say that all teachers found the consultations very positive and were able to congratulate the students on their attitude to learning and progress.

Next Friday is an ‘Own Clothes Day’ (£1) to help raise money for the three Young Person Charities introduced by Alan Pepper, our inspirational speaker. We are also planning another World Book Day; the theme to be announced next week to spark some creative ideas for costumes.

Our staff are receiving Homophobic, Biphobic & Transphobic antibullying training currently. We are also working hard in our teacher peer groups to share the best classroom practice. It is always a pleasure to walk into our classrooms to see our students so well engaged.

Good luck to our Year 11 Menai trip this weekend. Colleagues have taken a large group of extremely motivated students to study at the Conway Centre, Anglesey, to help further prepare them for their Art and Science GCSEs. Only 50 more school days left until the first GCSE exam on the 11th May!
