Middlewich High School

Achievement for all

Head's Blog - 03/05/16

Once again welcome back to another edition of the Head’s Blog. We’ve had another busy week at the school and we continue celebrate all the great things we have achieved.

We were very fortunate to host  a visit of the famous author Cathy Cassidy. Year 7 and 8 were joined by our primary school friends to hear Cathy talk about her books and encourage students to write creatively. It really was a pleasure to be inspired by Cathy and extend my appreciation to her and all who attended.

Our most able mathematicians  completed the Maths Challenge on Thursday and we are hopeful this will be our most successful challenge to date. We are proud of our students and their ability to compete nationally with students from the rest of the country. Good luck!

Year 10 students all were involved in our Year 10 Career’s Day, which was fantastic and relied on a dedicated support from our school partners, for which I am very grateful. Students are interviewed by 24 volunteers from local industry, societies and colleges in preparation for future further education or career interviews. The students dressed professionally and benefitted from the experience, having been provided with feedback after their interview.

I hope you all had an excellent Bank Holiday weekend and I look forward to another great week at the school.
