Positive Friday! 10/10/2014
Today is Positive Friday! A weekly blog post about positive events from the past week
On Fridays as a school, we like to reflect on the many positives that have happened during the week. It’s a time to celebrate all of the great things that make Middlewich High School so special. Now that I have the Head’s Blog up and running, I thought it would be a great opportunity for the community to hear of each week’s events in Positive Friday blog entries.
This week started with our involvement in the Middlewich World War I Centenary, where an outstanding community event was enhanced by students from the high school and primaries, working in collaboration to produce a wonderful dramatic show depicting the lives of the young men from Middlewich who went to the Western Front.
This week, we held our second Open Morning, and once again we had very positive feedback with all prospective parents being delighted by the ethos and values that we hold central to all that we do. If you still wish to take a tour of the school, please contact us directly and I will have our student guides show you around.
We would like to thank Middlewich Primary School for supporting our World Challenge students, having raised an outstanding £300 that will go towards their work with local communities when they travel to India next year.
Once again, our students’ voices were recognised in a very positive, strategic School Council meeting, with many ideas being put forward to further improve learning and the work the school does with the local community. I am delighted to announce that one of our students will be the youngest candidate in the National Ballot for the Youth Parliament. More information to follow.
This morning, a number of our students left for their Duke of Edinburgh weekend. Good luck to them and I hope the weather remains kind.
Thank you to all colleagues for the extraordinary amount of time that they put in every week to enhance the opportunities of all of our students.
Enjoy the weekend!
