Middlewich High School

Achievement for all

Head's Blog 21/11/2014

Positive Friday!

Last night it was our pleasure to welcome back our very successful Class of 2014, who celebrated their achievements at our Certificate Evening. Many thanks go to Middlewich Town Council for providing the Town Hall as a splendid venue and to all those companies and businesses who sponsored the prizes. My particular thanks to my many colleagues for organising the arrangements of this truly magnificent evening. Our guest speaker Paul O’Neill, Programme Manager of The Children’s Society in Cheshire and Warrington, spoke with passion about supporting the rights of young people and encouraged all those in the audience to have determination, resilience, and above all, to aim high in their dreams and aspirations.

During the week, once again students have completed extension activities in Science and Music based at Sir John Deane’s College, building partnerships with our post-sixteen providers really is helping our students to focus on their future pathways.

It is not only our students that are focused on self-study, but a number of colleagues are presently completing the Middle Leaders Development Programme.  Feedback has been excellent and it is clear that we encourage all staff to be driven to raise their own standards of personal development.  Good luck to all.

Finally, the regular work with our partner primaries’ most Able and Talented English students continues to be well received.  It is a delight to see so many making excellent progress before they make the transition to High School.
