Middlewich High School

Excellence in Learning – Achievement for All

Careers Fair

On Tuesday 24th June Middlewich High School hosted our first ever Careers Fair.

The following 10 organisations attended:

  • Sir John Deane’s College
  • South Cheshire College
  • Mid Cheshire College
  • Reaseheath College
  • Manchester Metropolitan University
  • National Citizen Service
  • Total People (Apprenticeship training provider)
  • CLM Associates (ICT apprenticeships)
  • National Sales Academy (Retail apprenticeships)
  • Cheshire Police

Every student in Year 7 to Year 10 attended the Careers Fair on a rota basis during the day. The exhibitors were very impressed with the politeness and inquisitive nature of our students. The opportunity to try on the Police helmets and handcuffs proved very tempting as did the free pens, wristbands and sweets on offer too! All students showed a keen interest in both college courses and apprenticeships, asking pertinent questions and often requesting further information. Many students have clear ideas about their future career plans and appreciated the opportunity to explore how to achieve these aims. After such a successful introduction, we plan to expand the Careers Fair further next year and hope to extend an invitation to parents and our primary partners to attend too.
