Back to Work
25th January 2019
After a great Christmas Holiday, all students are back, hard at work here at Middlewich High School.
During the first week back, Year 11 had to sit their OCR Sport Science Exam. They have worked hard for the past term, learning everything they needed for the paper, and we hope that all the hours of revision have paid off.
Yesterday, Year 8 had an Artefacts Day. Mr King came in to give the students a presentation on artefacts recovered from previous wars, and showed them his extensive collection of antique relics he has gathered over the years. Year 8 loved the day, and said that it has aided their learning immensely.
Recently, some students took a trip to Manchester to see some of the poets they study for GCSE English, recite their most famous work! The poets included; Simon Armitage, John Agard and Carol-Anne Duffy. All of the students who attended, said they thoroughly enjoyed it – especially the McDonald’s at the end!
Year 11 are currently hard at work for their next set of mock exams, however some are looking forward to a trip to Chester University next week. The trip will include a tour of the campus, an introduction to university life, and the chance to experience some lectures. This will give students a real insight into whether they want to go down the university route.
Have a good week!
