Results & Red Noses
15th March 2019
On the 27th of February, two year 10 science classes received the opportunity to visit Sir John Deane’s for a science taster session. The two classes were split into three groups, with one class each going to experience biology, chemistry or physics. Each class had the chance to do practical experiments, learn some GCSE content to a higher level, and have a good taste of scientific studies at college. Feedback from the college staff said they were delighted to see the pupils engaging and ultimately enjoying the lessons that were especially prepared for them. The students look forward to visiting the college again in March for another science taster session!
On the 11th of March, Year 11 all received their second set of mock exam results. Since the beginning of the academic year, all students have very much buckled down to revision and class work which went towards the grades they received. The majority of subjects have also begun to run a ‘lesson 6’ to aid in students’ revision and have clearly helped pupils make a substantial improvement in their grades. Every student who was entered for the PE Cambridge National exam also received their exam grade in the envelope inclosing their mock grades and it was delightful to see the pride and joy those students felt as they were celebrating with one another. Staff are extremely pleased for their students; they are very gratified to have helped students push themselves to achieve even above their target grades.
This Friday, our school will be celebrating Red Nose Day with red themed clothing and of course the infamous red noses! We are currently still raising money and are eager to have students and staff partake in the fundraising.
Enjoy your weekend and we look forward to keeping you updated here at Middlewich High School.
