PE and Sport at Middlewich High School is viewed as an integral part of every student’s education. Our aims focus on maximum achievement and progress for all.
All students receive 4 hours of high quality physical education in their core lessons. The innovative use of 'TEEP teaching' and 'pupil progress pyramids' in lessons ensures that all students experience a wide breadth of healthy and challenging activities. All pupils have the opportunity to explore roles in leadership, coaching and officiating as well as performing to the best of their ability.
EXAMINATION COURSES FOR KS4
PE is a very popular choice in KS4. We currently offer the Edexcel GCSE PE course in Years 10 and 11 along with the Junior Sports Leader Award. Our pupils achieve some of the highest results in the Local Authority and recent results were well above the National average.
Students are offered a broad and balanced programme of physical activities to cater for all abilities. Students who represent the school compete at a very high level in County and National competitions. There are also a large number of before and after school clubs that offer students the opportunity to engage in activities ranging from table tennis to personal conditioning and training.
