For any safeguarding concerns during school hours please contact the school on 01606 537670 or email safeguarding@mhs.school and ask to speak to any of the people listed below. 

Safeguarding concerns can be reported to the school during term-time (please see holiday dates for the days the school is open) from 8am until 4pm - Monday to Thursday and 8am until 3.30pm - Friday.  Emails are monitored daily from 7.30am to 6pm.

Young Minds is the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health. 

**Kooth provides an online counselling service for young people aged 11 – 19. It is a safe online place where you can:
• get help, advice & support with anything that's causing you stress, hardship or embarrassment
• find out about local services, events & news
• write your blog or magazine articles  

Visyon is a charity that supports the emotional health of children, young people and their families in the Cheshire and Staffordshire Moorlands areas. 

NSPCC – Cruelty to Children must stop. If you are worried about a child's safety, you can contact the NSPCC for advice. 

You can contact Childline call them on 0800 1111 or go online if you need to talk. This could include information about different types of abuse, neglect, family relationships, mental health and much more. 

Shout 85258 is a free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope.  

The Mix is the UK’s leading support service for young people. We are here to help you take on any challenge you’re facing - from mental health to money, from homelessness to finding a job, from break-ups to drugs. 

**Kidscape is the first charity in the UK dedicated to prevent bullying and child sexual abuse. Kidscape believes that protecting children from harm is key and work with children and young people under the age of 16, their parents/carers, and those who work with them. 

Thinkuknow the NCA's CEOP Command (formerly the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) works with child protection partners across the UK and overseas to identify the main threats to children and coordinates activity against these threats to bring offenders to account. They protect children from harm online and offline, directly through NCA led operations and in partnership with local and international agencies.

Channel is about partnerships and communities working together to support vulnerable people at an early stage and preventing them from being drawn into violent extremism.

Operation Encompass the purpose of Operation Encompass is to safeguard and support children and young people who have been involved in, heard or witnessed a domestic abuse incident.

**The service offered by these agencies include support for students who suffer from bullying prompted by homophobia or intolerance of the sexual orientation of others.
